One could ask what gives Jesus the right to do what He does? You might not have thought about such a question. By faith you simply accepted the fact that Jesus has such authority given to Him by the Father. 

Luke 8 is a good illustration of the authority the Father has given Jesus. Jesus reveals such authority in the calming of a storm on Lake Galilee. Who else could do that apart from Jesus? Jesus reveals such authority in the in the restoring of a man who was demon possessed. Who else could do that apart from Jesus? 

Jesus reveals such authority in the raising of a girl from the dead. Who else could do that apart from Jesus? Jesus reveals such authority in the restoring of a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. Who else could do that apart from Jesus? 

In these series of incidents, Jesus reveals His authority over the physical realm, over the spiritual / demonic realm, over the realm of death, and over the realm of illness. Who else could do all that apart from the one who has been handed all authority by God the Father? 

When someone next asks you how do you know Jesus is the One you are to follow? You might want to point them to the One who has all authority in heaven and on earth!
